#20 U-M Upsets #3 Miami to advance to the CCHA Championship Game on Sunday
Michigan Wolverines took down the Miami RedHawks, 6-2, in the second semifinal
of the CCHA Championship to earn their second straight trip to championship
game.
Senior forward Kevin Lynch gave the Wolverines the lead 1-0 in the first, freshman forward Andrew Copp added to a 2-nothing lead in the second, his two goals give him four multiple-point games this season. He scored two goals
vs. Northern Michigan in the CCHA first round clincher.
Freshman goaltender Steve Racine turned aside 33-of-35 shots for the win, 8-0-1 since taking over as the starter on Feb. 22. He is 12-5-3 on the season.
Michigan advances to the CCHA Championship game for the 18th time, seeking its
10th title. U-M is 10-7 in the title game. Last season the Wolverines lost, 3-2,
to Western Michigan in the championship game.
