Titans & Eagles display offensive dominance with home wins
Six Titans scored in double figures as Detroit earned a dominating 109-59 victory over the Aquinas Saints at Calihan Hall. It's the first time this season that Detroit hit the 100 mark. The Titans (5-3) were led by senior forward Juwan Howard Jr., who finished with a game-high 20 points while Brandan Kearney recorded a career-high with 17 points.
Horizon League Freshman of the Week Paris Bass also finished with 17 points, along with a game-high nine rebounds and five steals. Junior guard Carlton Brundidge recorded a season-high 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting in his first start of the season, Anton Wilson contributed with 12 points and five assists, and freshman Jaleel Hogan scored a career-high 12 points in his first ever collegiate start for Detroit.
The Titans will return to action this Saturday afternoon at 3 pm inside Calihan Hall when they host the Bulls of South Florida.
The Eastern Michigan Eagles remained undefeated this season by extending their home winning streak to 15 games with an 83-52 victory over the Marygrove Mustangs. Redshirt junior Mike Samuels posted his first career double-double with 10 points & 11 rebounds.
Eastern Michigan improved to 7-0, thus earning their best start since the 1995-96 season. All seven wins have come at the Convocation Center on the EMU campus.
The Eagles' first road trip of the season will be at Dayton this Saturday afternoon where they will take on the Flyers, who competed in last year's Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament. Game time is for 2 pm.
