Titans defeat USF; NJIT pulls off major upset vs. Michigan

Juwan Howard Jr. scored 16 points and Anton Wilson added 15 points to lead the Detroit Titans to a 67-57 victory over the South Florida Bulls.

Wilson was 5-of-7 from three-point range and Paris Bass finished with 11 points for Detroit. The Titans (6-3) will be back in action next Saturday (12/13) against Wichita State at Calihan Hall. Game time is set for 12 pm.




Damon Lynn made a critical 3-pointer with less than three minutes to go and finished with 20 points to help the New Jersey Institute of Technology Highlanders pull off the biggest upset in their program's history against the Michigan Wolverines in Ann Arbor, 72-70.

NJIT (New Jersey Institute of Technology), located in Newark just 28 miles northeast of Rutgers University in Piscataway, are the only independent team in Division I basketball since the majority of the then-Great West Conference folded and became a part of the Western Athletic Conference. This was the first time NJIT (3-5) has ever played a ranked opponent since transitioning to Division I in the 2007 season and it was also the first ever meeting between the two teams.

Caris LeVert scored 32 points for Michigan, but the Wolverines (6-2) only shot 42% from the field. U-M will be back at the Crisler Center this Tuesday night at 9 pm to face their in-state neighbor, Eastern Michigan.
