Oakland women cruise past Concordia with 109-62 victory
Leah Somerfield scored 18 points and Olivia Nash added 17 points as the Oakland Golden Grizzlies scored the most points in the Division I era with a 109-62 victory over the Concordia Cardinals at the Athletics Center O'rena in front of 1,358 fans.
A total of six Oakland players scored in double figures led by Somerfield, who was the team leader in points for the second time this season. Sinclair Russell scored a career-best 13 points and led the team with eight rebounds, Peyton Apsey also had 13 points with seven assists, Hannah Orwat recorded her first career double-digit point game with 11 points and Amy Carlton added 10 points.
Up next for the Golden Grizzlies is a trip to the south as they head to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi this Wednesday night to face the Islanders at 8 pm.
