MAC women win at home; Eastern falls to Ball State in OT

The Western Michigan Broncos improved to 9-4 (2-0 MAC) by earning a 61-51 victory over the visiting Ohio Bobcats at University Arena.

The win kept Western Michigan undefeated (6-0) at home this season. The 9-4 record is also the program's best start since the 2002-03 season, where they went 10-4 over its first 14 games. Alex Morton led WMU with 15 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals.

The Broncos will hit the road this weekend when they take on Ball State this Saturday afternoon at 2 pm.

Sean Sellers made a 3-pointer in the final seconds of overtime to give the Ball State Cardinals a 60-59 victory over the Eastern Michigan Eagles in the MAC opener for both teams.

The Cardinals trailed through most of overtime until Sellers' 3-pointer with 15 seconds left gave Ball State the win. Raven Lee led the Eagles with 16 points.

Eastern Michigan will spend the weekend in Oxford as they take on Miami (OH) this Saturday evening at 5:30 pm.
