GAME 2 - Montreal up 2-0; Caps, Preds, & Canucks even series

Nicklas Backstrom delivered a goal & two assists and Alex Ovechkin scored once to lead the Washington Capitals and backup goalie Philipp Grubauer to a 4-3 comeback win over the New York Islanders to even their Eastern Conference quarterfinals at one. The series now shifts to the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York for Game 3 this Sunday at noon.




After being ejected from Game 1, P.K. Subban responded with a goal in the Montreal Canadiens' 3-2 victory over the Ottawa Senators in Game 2, which was later sealed by Alex Galchenyuk's game winner 3:40 into overtime. With a 2-0 lead in the series. Montreal now heads to Ottawa for Game 3 this Sunday at 7 pm.




Craig Smith scored the first two playoff goals of his career and added an assist as the Nashville Predators took out the Chicago Blackhawks, 6-2 to tie their Western Conference quarterfinals at one. Game 3 will be this Sunday afternoon in Chicago at 3 pm.




Goaltender Eddie Lack made 22 saves as the Vancouver Canucks defeated the Calgary Flames, 4-1, to even their Western Conference quarterfinal series at one. A brawl broke out late in the 3rd period that resulted in 132 minutes in penalties, including six game misconducts -- three of which went to the Flames' Deryk Engelland. The series now moves to Calgary for Game 3 this Sunday night at 10 pm ET.
