Murphy's 6th-inning HR gets Mets past Dodgers in NLDS, 3-2
Daniel Murphy stole an uncovered third base and went on to score the tying run. Then two innings later, he hit a go-ahead homerun off of Zack Greinke that led the New York Mets past the Los Angeles Dodgers, 3-2, in the deciding Game 5 of the National League Division Series.
Murphy, who had three hits, batted .333 in the series and homered three times off of L.A.'s Greinke and Clayton Kershaw. Jacob deGrom (2-0), the 2014 NL Rookie of the Year, struck out seven batters & walked three to earn his second road win of the series.
Now in the NLCS, the Mets will return home to Citi Field to host Game 1 against the Chicago Cubs this Saturday night at 7:30 pm.
