Red Wings get much-needed win (& points) vs. Columbus, 3-1
Luke Glendening scored midway through the 1st period and Henrik Zetterberg & Darren Helm had goals in the 3rd period to help the Detroit Red Wings defeat the Columbus Blue Jackets, 3-1.
Goaltender Jimmy Howard made 27 saves for Detroit, who moved a point ahead of Philadelphia to get back in the Eastern Conference's second wild-card playoff spot.
The Red Wings will head down to the Sunshine State for the weekend to wrap up their four-game road trip, starting with Florida this Saturday night at 7 pm.
