Missed call kicks Spartan women out of NCAA Tournament
Breanna Richardson made a 3-pointer in the final minute to help the #5 Mississippi State Bulldogs defeat the #4 Michigan State Spartans, 74-72, in the second round of the 2016 NCAA Women's Tournament.
However, the ending could've been different. As Michigan State tried to tie the game, there was a chaotic scramble for the ball in the final seconds and referees failed to see that Mississippi State's Kayla Nevitt stepped out of bounds with about four seconds remaining.
Branndais Agee led the Spartans with 21 points. Tori Jankoska added 17 points, Jasmine Hines had 15 points, and Aerial Powers finished with 14 points.
