Cabrera saves Tigers from disaster vs. Kansas City, 7-6
Miguel Cabrera homered and had a go-ahead two-run single in the 9th inning to lead the Detroit Tigers to a 7-6 victory over the Kansas City Royals. Cabrera now has 25 homeruns and 108 RBIs in his career against Kansas City.
Detroit's closer Francisco Rodriguez (3-3) picked up the victory, despite blowing a save in the 8th inning when Paulo Orlando hit a two-run single to give KC a 6-5 lead.
Still tied in the 2nd AL wild card spot with Baltimore, the Tigers (73-61) will look to continue improving their standings in the pennant race when the take on the Royals again this Saturday night at 7:15 pm.
