Cabrera's HR helps Tigers stay in wild card race vs. Twins, 9-6
Miguel Cabrera hit a 7th-inning homerun to lead the Detroit Tigers to a crucial 9-6 victory over the Minnesota Twins to keep pace in the wild card race.
Shane Greene (5-4) got the win for Detroit, reliever Bruce Rondon pitched the 8th inning, and closer Francisco Rodriguez put up a perfect 9th inning for his 42nd save.
With a game out of the 2nd wild card spot, the Tigers will look to pull even when they wrap up their 4-game series with Minnesota at Comerica Park this Thursday afternoon at 1 pm.
