Red Wings come up short in goalie battle with Capitals, 1-0

The Washington Capitals defeated the Detroit Red Wings, 1-0, thanks to Jay Beagle's goal with 5:11 remaining in the 3rd period.
Goaltender Jimmy Howard finished with 27 saves for Detroit, who we're unable to score on four power play opportunities.
Attempting the break a 3-game losing streak, the Red Wings return home to the Joe Louis Arena to host Calgary this Sunday night at 7:30 pm.
