Fister gets early run support as Tigers take down Texas, 7-2
Torii Hunter, Jhonny Peralta, and Alex Avila all had RBI's in the 1st inning as the Detroit Tigers went on to defeat the Texas Rangers, 7-2, at Comerica Park.
Miguel Cabrera hit a sacrifice fly to record his 95th RBI of the season and starting pitcher Doug Fister held steady through six innings allowing just two runs on eight hits. The Tigers' bullpen held together as they all performed admirably shutting the door on the Rangers.
Detroit hopes to make it two in a row this Saturday night when they send their ace Max Scherzer (13-0) to the mound to face Derek Holland (7-4) for a 7 pm start.
