Early slump continues as Tigers go down to Texas, 2-0

Justin Verlander went the distance, throwing 119 pitches, but he couldn't get any run support as the Tigers’ bats fell silent in their loss to the Texas Rangers, 2-0. With a rough start to the season at 3-7, the Tigers will try again to dig themselves out of last place in the AL Central Tuesday against the 9-1 Rangers at Comerica Park. Starting at the mound for Detroit will be Brad Penny, who will go up against Texas starter C.J. Wilson.
