After five years, Red Wings lose to Buffalo, 3-2, in shootout
Tyler Ennis and Zemgus Girgensons scored shootout goals as the Buffalo Sabres slipped past the Detroit Red Wings, 3-2. Michal Neuvirth made 36 saves and stopped Henrik Zetterberg in the third round of the shootout to help the Sabres get a win over the Red Wings for the first time since October 13, 2009.
Pavel Datsyuk had a goal & an assist, Tomas Tatar also scored, and goaltender Jimmy Howard made 19 saves for Detroit, who had won two in a row before starting a stretch of three games in four nights in four cities.
The next stop for the Red Wings will be in Ottawa this Tuesday night at 7:30 pm against the Senators before heading to New York the following night.
