RED WINGS LOSE IN A SHOOTOUT TO WASHINGTON 4-3

It seems like when the Red Wings go into extra time they struggle and it showed when the Capitals beat Detroit in a shootout 4-3.
Wings led throughout the game, Johan Franzen scored twice in the first period with a 2-1 lead. Danny DeKeyser increased the led to 3-1 in the second period.
Again having a led in the third period has been difficult for Detroit, Alex Ovechkin scored his 15th of the season, then Michael Latta tied the game for Washington midway through the third period.
After a scoreless overtime from both teams then Nicklas Backstrom scored the only goal in the shootout for the Caps.
