Red Wings fall short at Washington in shootout, 3-2
T.J. Oshie and Evgeny Kuznetsov scored in the shootout as the Washington Capitals got help from an earlier goal from Alex Ovechkin in a 3-2 victory over the Detroit Red Wings.
Henrik Zetterberg & Tomas Jurco scored for Detroit, who earned a point for the 11th straight game (8-0-3) in their longest streak since 2010.
The Red Wings return home to the Joe Louis Arena to take on Montreal in an Original Six showdown this Thursday night at 7:30 pm.
