The Red Wings lose to the Blackhawks in Chicago 3-2 in a shootout. The Point gives the Wings a two point advantage for the eighth spot in the Western Conference playoff race.
Down 1-0 the Wings took the lead in the second on goals from Johan Franzen and Cory Emerton, Jimmy Howard had 26 saves holding the 2-1 lead until late in the third as Chicago tied the game and won it in a shootout.
