Reversal brings justice as Packers win; Colts beat Denver
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers rallied the Green Bay Packers from eight points down with two 2nd-half touchdowns passes to eliminate the Dallas Cowboys, 26-21, in the NFC Divisional game.
Thanks to a video reversal that carefully reviewed late in the 4th quarter, the Packers went undefeated at Lambeau Field this season. With 4:06 remaining in the game, Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant's leaping, bobbling 31-yard catch at the Packers 1 yard line on a 4th-and-2 play was challenged by Green Bay head coach Mike McCarthy. Instead of 1st-and-goal for Dallas, the ball went over to the Packers.
Next Sunday, Green Bay returns to Seattle to face the Seahawks for the NFC Championship. Game tiem is set for 3 pm. Top-seeded Seattle opened the regular season with a 36-16 victory over Green Bay.
After the events of last week, for many Detroit Lions players & fans, this was poetic justice!
Quarterback Andrew Luck threw for 265 yards & two touchdown passes to lead the Indianapolis Colts past the Denver Broncos, 24-13, in the AFC Divisional game.
The Broncos were the AFC's only unbeaten team at home (8-0) and the only team in the NFL with a top-five offense and a top-five defense. Denver averaged 35 points a game at home this season.
Meanwhile, the Colts advanced to the AFC Championship next Sunday at 6:30 pm where they will get a rematch against the Patriots in New England. Indianapolis lost at home, 42-20, on November 16th (Week 11).
