Zetterberg's hat trick in the 3rd powers Wings past Buffalo, 6-4
Zetterberg's hat trick completed Detroit's comeback as the Red Wings earned a 6-4 victory over the Buffalo Sabres. Buffalo sufferd their 11th consecutive loss, even after leading the 1st period, 3-0.
It was the sixth career hat trick for Zetterberg and it helped backup goaltender Tom McCollum earn his first career victory. McCollum, who made seven saves in over 45 minutes of action, came on during the 1st period to replace Petr Mrazek, who allowed three goals on seven shots. Gustav Nyquist, Drew Miller, and Tomas Tatar also scored for Detroit.
Before the All-Star break begins in Columbus this coming weekend, the Red Wings will wrap up the 1st half of the season this Tuesday night at the Joe Louis Arena against Minnesota. Game time is set for 7:30 pm.
