Tigers fire back at Yankees with 12-4 blowout
After suffering a humiliating 14-3 loss last night, J.D. Martinez hit three homeruns and drove in six runs to lead the Detroit Tigers to a dominating 12-4 victory over the New York Yankees to snap their four-game losing streak.
J.D. Martinez became the first Tigers player to hit three homeruns against the Yankees since Charlie Maxwell in 1959. It was also the first three-homerun game for Detroit since Miguel Cabrera did it at Texas two years ago.
The Tigers will remain on the road to start the new week as they travel to Cleveland to begin a three-game series, starting this Monday night at 7 pm.
