Michigan shuts down Illinois in Big Ten opener, 78-68
Junior forward Mark Donnal came through with 26 points, nine rebounds, and three blocks -- all career highs -- to lead the Michigan Wolverines over the Illinois Fighting Illini, 78-68, to open Big Ten play for both teams.
Caris LeVert added 22 points, including the first nine, and tied a career best with 10 assists for Michigan (11-3), who have now won five games in a row.
The Wolverines will return home to Ann Arbor to host Penn State this Saturday at noon.
