Boesch's homerun helps Tigers beat Texas in the rain, 6-5
Everytime you count the Tigers out, they comeback and win. Despite the pouring rain, Brennan Boesch provided the game-winning homerun as Detroit held on to defeat the defending American League Champion Texas Rangers, 6-5.
The Rangers tied the game at five in the 8th, then in the bottom of the inning, Boesch hit a sole homerun in the rain off of Texas reliever Mike Adams for the victory. Joaquin Benoit (3-3) gave up three runs to tie the game at five was the winner, while Jose Valverde saved his America League leading 29th of the season.
Detroit had 14 hits in the game, led by Boesch, who was 3 for 4, and also five other Tiger players had two each including Miguel Cabrera,who was 2 for 5.
