Error helps Giants lead NLCS 2-1; Royals go up 3-0 in ALCS
A wild throw by Cardinals reliever Randy Choate on a bunt allowed Brandon Crawford to score the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift the San Francisco Giants over St. Louis, 5-4, for a 2-1 lead in the National League Championship Series.
Game 4 in the best-of-seven series will be this Wednesday night at 8 pm ET when starting pitcher Ryan Vogelsong of the Giants goes up against St. Louis' Shelby Miller.
Extra innings were not necessary this time as Mike Moustakas provided defense with his glove along with Billy Butler driving in the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly in the 6th inning to lead the Kansas City Royals to a 2-1 victory over the Baltimore Orioles and a commanding 3-0 lead in the American League Championship Series.
With their sights set on another sweep, Kansas City will send Jason Vargas to the mound against Baltimore's Miguel Gonzalez for Game 4 this Wednesday afternoon at 4 pm in hopes of advancing to their first World Series since 1985.
