Alfredo Simon pitched into the eighth inning as the Detroit Tigers came away with a 2-1 victory over the New York Yankees on a cold & windy night. J.D. Martinez and Yoenis Cespedes hit consecutive RBI singles in the 7th inning to help Detroit complete the rally.
Simon (3-0) allowed a run and seven hits in 7 & 1/3 innings while striking out seven batters without a walk.
