Tigers avoid another disaster with 5-4 victory over Twins

Victor Martinez finished with three hits and two RBIs as the Detroit Tigers defeated the Minnesota Twins, 5-4.
James McCann also had three hits for Detroit and starting pitcher Alfredo Simon (13-9) pitched into the 7th inning. Closer Bruce Rondon allowed a run in the 9th inning before finishing for his fifth save of the season.
The Tigers will conclude their three-game series at Minnesota this Wednesday night at 8 pm.
