Heroic late goals highlight a trio of Game 3s
After a pair of frustrating losses in Washington, the New York Rangers made the most of their return home Sunday by beating the Capitals, 3-2 to cut their series deficit two games to one after Brandon Dubinsky netted the winning goal with 1:39 left by bouncing a shot off Washington's Karl Alzner, goalie Michal Neuvirth, and then the stick of Alex Ovechkin to give New York the win.
Mike Fisher broke a tie at 10:21 of the third period as the Nashville Predators took advantage of Anaheim's Bobby Ryan sitting out the first of his two-game suspension by beating the Ducks, 4-3 to take a 2-1 lead in the Western Conference first round playoff series.
Mikael Samuelsson scored the go-ahead goal in the third period and Roberto Luongo finished with 30 saves as the Vancouver Canucks beat the Chicago Blackhawks, 3-2 to take a commanding 3-0 lead. They can complete the sweep of the opening round series this Tuesday night in Chicago, IL at the United Center.
