Tigers fall victim to up-and-down 9th inning vs. Chicago, 4-3
Leury Garcia singled home the winning run in the bottom of the 9th inning as the Chicago White Sox defeated the Detroit Tigers, 4-3, to finish 4th in the AL Central division. The Tigers took a 3-2 lead in the top of the 9th after an RBI double by pinch-hitter James McCann scored Rajai Davis.
Miguel Cabrera hit a two-run homerun for Detroit to virtually locked up the American League batting title. Plus, he had three hits to raise his AL-best average to .338.
Even after finishing last in the division, the Tigers will look to end the 2015 season with a win in Chicago this Sunday afternoon at 2 pm.
