Women prevail during the day; Western men fall at night
Tori Jankoska scored 18 points and Jasmine Hines added 16 points as the Michigan State Spartans got off to a quick start to defeat the Idaho State Bengals, 79-60.
Jankoska surpassed 1,000 career points in the 1st half to become the 25th Spartan to reach that milestone. She also had nine assists and five steals while Hines made 8-of-10 shots and finished the day with eight rebounds. Aerial Powers added 12 points off the bench for MSU.
The Spartans will be away for a week as they head to the Bahamas to take on the Cincinnati Bearcats this Friday evening at 5:45 pm.
